RiverHawk Track and Field Competes over Spring Break

The UCC RiverHawk Track & Field team was in action again over spring break. The team competed at the Southern Oregon University meet #2 on Thursday and Friday. Picking up event wins for the RiverHawks were Genessa Eldredge in pole vault, Kaylee Hendron in discus, Jaelin Hotz in triple jump, and Christopher Penn in the 200m dash. 

Eldredge vaulted a height of 3.19m to establish a new personal best and school record. A record that was just set last week by fellow teammate Gabriela Rudd with a jump of 2.98m. Rudd finished 3rd in the competition. Kaylee Hendron competed in both the discus and shot put where Hendron won the discus competition with a toss of 40.34m to establish a personal best and school record. Also picking up a win for the women in the track meet was Jaelin Hotz in the triple jump with a leap of 10.08m, an improvement of two feet from her last triple jump competition. On the men's side, Christopher Penn won the men's 200m sprint with a time of 22.10 to establish a new school record and season's best.

The RiverHawks will be back in action this upcoming weekend at the Tioga Twilight hosted by Southwestern Oregon Community College on Saturday, April 3.
