The UCC Men's Basketball Secured the South Region Championship with 2 games remaining before the playoffs which will begin on March 5th at 12pm for the RiverHawks in Pasco, Washington. 

The team cruised to an emphatic 79-63 win on the road vs. SWOCC last Wedensday night with 4 scorers scoring 18 points or more. 

"I was really proud of how we handled adversity leading up to the game.  Guys were sick with the flu and we have had injuries plague the team lately, but we toughened it out and we battled for the full 40 minutes", said Coach Daniel Leeworthy.

The win brough the team to a season win/loss record of 23-4, and 11-3 in region play. 

The team celebrated after the win knowing the South region championship was their's with 2 games remaining. "We had fun, and celebrated our accomplishment.  We are so close as a team, and it was awesome to know we had accomplished our first big goal of the season".  The good news for the RiverHawk men is that they are hungry for more. 

They play Saturday February 21st at Portland CC vs. Clark College at 2pm, and then Wednesday February 25th at Lane College at 5.30pm. 

The playoffs begin for the team Thursday March 5th at 12pm at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington vs. either Highline or Centralia College.
