The RiverHawk Men's Basketball team tipped-off their new season with a pair of victories over the club teams from Concordia University and the University of Oregon.
Friday night in Portland saw the RiverHawks jump out to a 52-42 half-time lead and cruise to a 104-82 victory over Concordia University. The RiverHawks were led by freshman, Eric Klekas with 21 points on 7-14 shooting. Post players Coleman Johnson and Jordan Lehrer each finished with 16 points, to go along with 7 and 9 rebounds. Ethan Betts reached double figure scoring with 10 points and added 9 assists and 8 rebounds. Freshman David Vasquez led the reserves in scoring with 12 points.
Saturday night the RiverHawks jumped to a big lead, early in the game and led by as much as 22 points, before settling in to an 88-81 victory over the University of Oregon club team. Ethan Betts led the team in scoring with 24 points. Four other RiverHawks scored in double figures during the victory.
